I don't know why I didn't write in the midst of London Fashion Week about the collections that shocked me, or at least the ones I remembered. Some of the most vibrant looks I posted earlier on Facebook, but those are not truly the worthy candidates to write a whole post about:) Finally, it came! (In fact, all this preface is just an attempt to justify myself for my silence;)) But now I promise thet the next few posts will be about the designers and their collections, which were presented at the London 2013 event. We really need to know their autumn-winter interpretation of our wardrobe.
My hero of this day is Christopher Kane. A little history: He is 32, he grew up in a large family and was the youngest of five children. He started a brilliant career after graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2006. By the way, graduates of the same college at the time were McQueen, Stella McCartney and John Galliano. This company is more than worthy! After graduating, Kane created his own brand with his sister, Tammy, and this despite the fact that THE Danatella Versace wanted him to work with her!
But Kane didn't regret his decision to work independently. In 2006, he was voted as the best designer in Scotland. The next year, he received another award «British Fashion Awards» as the "New Designer of the Year." Another award he received in 2008 was «Fashion Forward», founded by the British Fashion Council (British Fashion Council). This gave Kane the opportunity to participate in Fashion Week. Well, finally in 2009, persistent Donatella got Kane as the designer for the revival of youth brand Versus, which Kane successfully managed.
This year, Kane just fantaniruets with new ideas. His last collection looks divided into parts. In one of them you can feel the influence of Italian chic, the other part full of minimalist millitari. But the absolutely fresh spirit of his collection erases all the "strangeness" of this designer.
